Met brings life

Insurance giant MetLIfe Inc. is planning to expand their plant in Charlotte, South Carolina.  Just last month they announced an expected increase of 1,350 employees. April rumours that are circling however, suggest that number might double. While it has not yet been officially confirmed, there is a good chance that Charlotte will become the new hub for the organisation's retail insurance business in the United States. This would involve a capital investment of approximately $40.6M, with a transition happening over the next two years.  Real-estate firm Jones Lang La Salle supported these rumours in their recently released market report, saying that MetLife has been seeking space upwards …

Looking for a property investment opportunity in Tennessee? Turn your eyes to the North or the South.  The latest news out of Memphis is that Nike is now adding a second distribution area to the city. When complete, Northern Memphis will be home to the new premises expected to be a staggering 2.8 million square feet and it will serve as a support centre for the distribution of footwear, apparel and equipment to stores across North America.  Also on Nike's radar is a $25M dollar retrofit and upgrade of its Southern Memphis facility.
